After Robert Downey Jr., Marvel Brings Chris Evans On Board 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, December 10 - Marvel Studios is re-assembling its OG superheroes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday after seemingly closing that chapter in the last Avengers film - Avengers: Endgame, back in 2019. ## After officially confirming Robert Downey Jr.'s big Marvel comeback, this time as a villain, to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Hollywood media has reported that Chris Evans who played Captain America, is also returning to the MCU. ## According to the report by Deadline, the role of Evans isn't entirely clear at this point but he in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, the report states it wouldn't be a shock if he reprises that iconic role as Steve Rogers though Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. ## It is not that Evans hasn't featured in the MCU title after Endgame, the actor recently had a cameo in the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as his character from the Fox/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-Captain America: Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four movies.## Deadline has also reported that apart from Downey Jr., and Evans, many other Marvel OG superheroes are expected to return for Doomsday. Benedict Cumberbatch has already confirmed his appearance as Doctor Strange in this highly anticipated blockbuster while it is also being speculated that Tom Holland would feature in the film. ## The shoot of Doomsday will kick off next year as the movie is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 1st, 2026. Russo Brothers Provide 'Avengers: Doomsday' Filming Update

Los Angeles, October 22 - At the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) earlier this year, Marvel Studios president Kavin Feige stunned the entertainment world by announcing that Robert Downey Jr. would return to MCU to play the antagonist as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers movies - Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. ## Feige also announced that the Russo Brothers would make their Marvel comeback to direct both - Doomsday and Secret Wars which were scheduled to be released on 1 May 2026, and 7 May 2027, respectively. Now, Russo Brothers have provided a filming update for Avengers: Doomsday. ## During an interview at New York Comic Con with Collider, the director duo confirmed that Doomsday will officially begin filming in the spring of 2025. It was also reported that both movies will be shot separately unlike Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), both directed by Russos, which were filmed simultaneously.## While not much has been revealed yet about the film, the filmmaker duo confirmed that all four core members of The Fantastic Four will also star in Doomsday alongside Robert Downey Jr. The Fantastic Four: First Steps, starring Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn, is slated for July 25, 2025, release.## There have been a lot of rumours about who will feature in the next Avengers movie, however, other than the aforementioned actors, only Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to star in the film and the actor himself confirmed the development recently. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, October 5 - A few months after Benedict Cumberbatch offered a disappointing update on the third instalment of Marvel Studios Doctor Strange, a new report has emerged which has sparked excitement among the fans. ## According to a new report from The InSneider (via The Direct), Marvel Studios is nearing a deal with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi to return and direct the trilogy-completing threequel.## Raimi previously helmed 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, taking over the franchise from initial Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. If the director officially comes on board for the next movie, it will be his 5th Marvel movie which also includes the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. ## Doctor Strange 3 hasn't been officially announced yet but the rumours are making rounds for quite some time about its development. Moreover, Multiverse of Madness has been among the most successful MCU films post the Covid-19 pandemic despite the mixed reviews, so the third movie is bound to make its way to the screen. ## It is not yet clear when Doctor Strange 3 may release but Marvel has set a couple of untitled movie release dates in 2026. First MCU Actor Confirmed For 'Avengers 5'

Los Angeles, June 22 - The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is getting closer to its first Avengers movie since Endgame (2019) as the Multiverse Saga continues to move forward with its Phase 5 slate in which three films are left before the beginning of the final Multiverse, Phase 6. ## The next Avengers movie, Avengers 5 will mark the beginning of the end for Marvel's multiverse storyline, and as things are moving thick and fast, a massive update finally out on the first confirmed MCU star to feature in the film. ## One of the biggest MCU names in the post-Endgame era, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch has been confirmed to be the first actor to join the massive ensemble of Avengers 5. During a recent edition of Still Watching Netflix (via Screen Rant), Cumberbatch looked back at playing Doctor Strange and also spilt a bean on the next Avengers film. ## "This is Doctor Strange. He's a Marvel character and, well, I'll be really honest about it, the joy of playing him is immense. But also the joy of playing him means I can help create and platform stories and writing and less commercial fare into being. He's a gift in many, many ways in my life as a producer, and as an actor. I love playing him. He's great fun. I'm very much looking forward to Avengers next year, which is cooking up a storm", the actor said.## Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty, but assault charges against Jonathan Majors, who was set to headline the film as Kang, forced Marvel to fire him and look for other titles. Los Angeles, June 28 - The search for new Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane finally ends as James Gunn's DC Superhero movie Superman: Legacy casts David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in the coveted roles, according to Deadline.## Gunn's "Superman: Legacy" will largely be a workplace origin story of Superman. Corenswet, who headlined Ryan Murphy's Netflix series "Hollywood", will play cub reporter Kent at the fictional newspaper The Daily Planet. Brosnahan will be his coworker and co-lead.## The casting of the lead pair of the upcoming movie was done through a long process of audition. Corenswet earned widespread acclaim for his breakout performance in Netflix's "The Politician", as well as the celebrated horror indie "Pearl" from A24. ## Rachel Brosnahan, on the other hand, is a well-established actor in Hollywood.
